City of College Park Form of Government
The City of College Park, Georgia, operates under a mayor-council form of government. The city is led by a mayor who is elected at-large and four council members, each representing one of the city's four wards. The mayor serves as a presiding officer of the council and has a tie-breaking vote. The legislative authority rests with the city council, which has a quorum of three members.
Mayor:
College Park is a mayor–council form of government; the mayor and city council typically share the primary policymaking role, and the mayor fills the primary executive role. In many cities, however, the mayor’s role is primarily ceremonial; the mayor possesses few, if any, of the executive powers provided to a “strong” mayor. For example, the mayor may appoint council committees, develop the city’s budget, or veto.

This office manages key departments such as public safety, parks, and public works, and is responsible for implementing the policies set by the City Council.
