Splashes of Joy: Westpoint Creek Townhomes Pool Reopens After a Decade
Summer in Ward 4 is off to a refreshing start! Residents of Westpoint Creek Townhomes celebrated the long-awaited grand re-opening of their community pool, which had been closed for nearly ten years. Thanks to the support of Councilman Roderick Gay, who provided generous food donations—including a crowd-pleasing ice cream truck—the celebration was a sweet success.

Councilman Gay Highlights Senior Tax Relief Efforts in WSB-TV Interview
College Park Ward 4 Councilman Roderick Gay recently sat down with WSB-TV’s Justin Gray to discuss the city’s plan to eliminate property taxes for senior citizens—a move that could bring meaningful relief to longtime residents on fixed incomes.
The interview spotlighted residents like Shirley Harper Robinson, who has lived in her College Park home since 1979 and is now facing the dual challenges of rising property taxes and serious health concerns. Her story underscores the urgency behind the city’s proposed referendum, which would exempt qualifying seniors—those 65 and older who’ve owned their homes for at least five years—from city property taxes.
Councilman Gay emphasized that with a strong city budget and unanimous council support, College Park is well-positioned to lead with compassion and fiscal responsibility.
